If you are coming off disposables or cigarettes, a pod kit is the better starting point. A box mod is what you move to if you later want more vapour and full control over wattage.
What You Need to Run a Box Mod
A 510-thread tank. The mod supplies power; the tank holds the e-liquid and the coil. They are bought separately unless you choose a starter kit that includes both.
Batteries and a charger, for most mods. Many box mods take removable cells rather than a built-in battery. Buy cells from a reputable brand, carry them in a case rather than loose in a pocket, and replace any cell with a torn wrap.
Low-strength freebase e-liquid. High-strength salt nicotine is not suitable for sub-ohm direct-lung vaping - the nicotine delivery would be far too high.
Spare coils. Sub-ohm coils wear faster than pod coils because they run hotter and move more e-liquid.
Regulated Mods and Safety
Every box mod we sell is regulated - it has a chipset that controls output, checks the coil's resistance and cuts off if something is wrong. That protection is the reason to buy a regulated device rather than a mechanical one.
Stay inside the wattage range printed on your coil, keep the battery contacts clean, and stop using any cell whose wrap is damaged.
